Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Every author that is going to submit and publish articles is highly encouraged to pay attention to this author guidelines. Every article that does not comply with the author guidelines will be rejected.

General Requirements:

    1. Every manuscript that has been submitted to DISKURSUS should not have been published in any publications.
    2. Every author that the article has been in process is required to sign the Copyrights Transfer Agreement to DISKURSUS.
    3. All of the process regarding the manuscript will be conducted only through the Open Journal System website and all forms of communication will be conducted through email.
    4. All the manuscripts will be reviewed through double-blind review process by reviewers who specialize in the issue.

Manuscript Detailed Guidelines :

      1. DISKURSUS accepts articles written in Indonesian or in English, with length of an article should be between 4.500 and 8.500 words excluding bibliography. The article must use the following standard typography: Book Antiqua 12pt, 1.5 spacing. More precise technical instructions can be found in the article template.
      2. The Title of the article should be clear enough to describe the content of the articles with no longer than 12 words.
      3. Author's Identity: author should place his/her name (without academic title), institution, and email address right under the title of the article.
      4. The Abstract should be concise and written in both English and Indonesian with no longer than 200 words. Written in normal style of Book Antiqua 11pt, it should be clear enough to summarize the paper with maximum words of 6 keywords.
      5. The Introduction must include background and the main question (status quaestionis) of the research; the author’s current research position among other research on related themes; literature review; method and theoretical framework of the research; and the novel ideas that the article intends to propose; the introduction ends with an emphasis on items to be discussed.
      6. Discussion includes analysis and synthesis of the concept/data/arguments under consideration. The author may discuss every aspect of the topic in question one by one in this section. It is necessary for the author to build his/her arguments on the primary sources or to provide original data, and then to discus and to compare his/her arguments to research and works of other scholars.
      7. Conclusion must clearly states: (1) answers of the research questions (status questionis), (2) main arguments, or (3) critical and new comprehension about the main issues being discussed.
      8. References should include primary sources and secondary sources that the author really used to build the arguments. At least 80% of the references should be of recent publication (published no more than 10 years ago). All references entries should be accessible for everybody. For references (footnotes and bibliography), DISKURSUS adopts The Chicago Manual of Style. See some examples below.
      9. Bibliography should include every reference and arranged by the author in alphabetical order without distinguishing/classifying books, journals, or articles.
